These Tzu Chi volunteers inspect the machine that will distil dirty water and make it safe to drink. According to Tzu Chi volunteer Will Jen (in grey uniform) it was the first time that the distilling units were placed in disaster sites such as Tacloban City. A single portable machine can purify five tons of water in a day be-nefitting 2,500 people. It would usually take less than an hour to complete the purification process. It purifies dirty water using the la-test state-of-the-art technology.
