“We convey our strong criticism to the government for its irresponsible statements and actions on the issue of CoVid-19 vaccine procurement and use like ‘puwede na,’ and ‘huwag kayong choosy.’ We want a government that ensures the safety and lives of our people,” ayon kay Robert Mendoza, AHW national president sa isang kalatas.

“Health workers evaluated the DOH and Duterte administration’s one-year performance in handling CoVid-19 pandemic as inefficient, negligent and failure.”

”Looking back to what happened last year and until now,  despite the prompt and sincere response of health workers to save lives and cure victims of the disease, the DOH and government authorities remained extremely slow, numb, and deaf in responding to the needs of health workers and patients,” ani Mendoza.

“Nothing has changed in our situation: many health workers from the regions still lack of protective gear, severe understaffing in public hospitals and health facilities that lead to health workers to extend long hours of duty, low wages, over delayed of payment of miniscule and selective benefits such as actual hazard duty pay and special risk allowance. There is still difficulty of claiming the sickness benefit to all health workers who are infected with the deadly virus,” paliwanag ni Mendoza.

“If the DOH and Duterte administration are really sincere in our well-being, they will not make it difficult for us to get the benefits that are for us. What is happening is that we still have to protest before they will give our hard earned benefits,” ani Carmona.
