HINDI man nakuha ni Miss Philippines Catriona Gray ang korona bilang Miss World 2016, marami naman ang naging proud sa 22 taong gulang na beauty queen dahil sa magaling na pagkasagot nito sa final question and answer portion.
Si Stephanie del Valle ng Puerto Rico ang kinoronahang Miss World 2016, samantalang si Miss Dominican Republic na si Yaritza Reyes ang 1st runner-up at ang Miss Indonesia na si Natasha Mannuela ang 2nd runner-up.
Si Gray ang 3rd Princess at si Miss Kenya na si Evelyn Thungu ang 4th Princess.
Sa Question and answer portion, natanong si Gray ni Miss World 2015 Mireia Lalaguna ng “Which qualities do you think it will take to wear my crown?”
Na sinagot naman ng beauty queen mula Bicol ng, “I think, first of all, it takes bravery. To be a Miss World is to carry a burning torch, it is the action carried out by one to illuminate the lives of many and I would dedicate my whole self, my love for the arts, and my voice to try and uplift, empower, and educate people.
“And it would be my greatest honor and duty to hold this torch high enough so that all the world could feel and see its light.”
Samantala, sa pakikipag-usap ni Gray sa Philippine pageant website OPMB, sinabi nitong, “I really gave my all and I hope I made you guys proud. It was an honor to carry the Philippine flag on a world stage. Salamat.”
At nang tanungin kung ano ang gagawin matapos ang pageant, sinabi nitong, “I dont know, Christmas muna. Sleep muna, hibernate.”
