It’s Like This book ni Kuya Boy, ‘hindi pinlano

Aniya, ”Hindi ito pinlano for a specific reason. Nangyari na lamang. I actually written a book on management, on managing talents at napunta nga kami rito at naging trilogy nga ang aming naging usapan ng ABS-CBN Publishing. Ibig sabihin, my second book is actually done. It’s ready for printing. It’s a compendium of speeches na aking idinilever sa doctoral graduation ko at ‘yan ay handa na.

“Ang pangatlo kong libro will be on managing a public figures,” pagbabalita pa ni Kuya Boy.

“Kung bakit ngayon lang? Hindi ko talaga alam. It just happened. It happen. Hindi maituloy parang ganoon, until you know. So many people helped, Bemz (Benedito, isa sa editor ng libro) na pasimuno talaga. There are times na I kept on writing, thank you Lord you make it happen.”

”One of the most done thing parts of writing a book is being able to decide kung ano ang ipapasok at kung ano ang ie-edit. When we were doing a book, napunta roon sa… pero wala ‘yung, ano ‘yung last? The last quote is 137, napunta lang doon pero I wanted na ang last one (page) will be an odd number. Wala lang suwerte ko.”

Ang format ng librong It’s Like This ay quote at hindi iyong normal na libro, ”I was writing quotes for another material pagkatapos napunta roon. Wala talaga ito sa… ako makaplano eh, you guys know me. ‘Yung management book ko eh I did a structure, 1,2,3,4, 5, 6 ito wala. Pero I have to start somewhere and I’m glad, I started with ‘It’s Like This,’ magaan, light lang na narrative.

“It’s my story, my whole story, it’s part of my story. The whole thing you can write a story in the whole book.

Siyempre hindi mo na isasali roon ang Diyos, sabi ko nga, I’m a child of God, I am Boy Abunda, I profoundly love my mother, I love this country, I’m a talk show host, I’m an interviewer, I am a partner, I am a teacher, I am a student, I am me.”

It is important to have a self talk. It is important to do self talk. Maganda ba ang aking ginawa, maayos ba ako. Was I fair? Bakit umiyak, tumawa ang isang tao? It is important that we asses our selves as often as we can.”

Bukod dito, ilan pa sa lessons na makukuha sa libro ay ang: laugh and live with your successes and failures, knowing that all are fleeing; everything and everyone has a dark side, embrace it; gay love is equal to all forms of human love; love your mother, return phone calls, fight only when you need to, read books and the best spa is at the feet of God; always play for the crowd and remember that they won’t always be there at marami pang iba.

Mabibili ang It’s Like This sa halagang P275 sa National Book Store at Powerbooks branches nationwide.
